It seems like every time one opens the newspaper, watches the television or goes online, it’s one horrible story or the other… terrorism… suicide… rape… corruption… financial crisis and don’t even get me started about the hate speeches and insensitive comments people pass on social media – savage!! In a world where people bashing, insensitivity and disregard for other peoples feelings seem to be the order of the day, we must be intentional about disabusing the minds of young children from thinking this is “normal behavior”. It’s been said, “children learn more by observation than what is said”. Little wonder bullying, cyber bullying and school shootings are becoming frequent occurrences.

If you ask me I believe the world could do with a huge dose of kindness and digital empathy and through out the month of February, RAVE Et Al would be focusing on both core values.

February 11-17, 2018 is Random Acts Of Kindness (RAK) Week and we’d like to challenge you to deliberately instill the values of kindness and empathy in your children by either perform some acts of kindness with them or inspiring them to do kind deeds on their own – offline & online. Over the course of the month we would share various ideas with you – trust me it would be fun and well worth it.
